Founder Letter to Future HumanCulture Brand Partners

MattFounder,

HumanCulture

Friend,

For several years, I’ve found myself returning to the same conviction again and again: I hope we do not lose the best of the human experience and human contribution in the age of artificial intelligence. That conviction sits at the heart of why I started HumanCulture. I believe the greatest element in any culture or society is the human element, and the work of our brand is in service to preserving and elevating that idea as technology continues to advance in the years ahead.

Let me be clear, I am not against AI. I use AI all the time and it would have been nearly impossible for me to start this business without it. I see the opportunity. I understand why organizations are investing heavily and moving quickly. AI is going to shape the future of work in profound ways, and my aspiration is to help shape a future where human capability and AI work together in a way that elevates both.

But what I also see in this moment is that much of the conversation is moving faster than our ability to think deeply about how these systems are being integrated and what we are protecting, preserving, and building for people inside that change.

So much of the focus right now is on automation, efficiency, and speed. Much less attention is being given to how work itself is being redesigned. To the employees trying to adapt, the leaders trying to understand future implications to come as a result of today’s decisions. I see organizations trying to adopt powerful tools without fully understanding how to combine AI capability with human creativity, judgment, and contribution in a way that makes both stronger. I also see consumers and stakeholders beginning to form new questions about the brands they’re interacting with.

These are just some of the tensions I’ve been paying attention to. And it is the reason HumanCulture exists.

My hope is that we can help organizations and their brands navigate the massive opportunity that is AI while strengthening the human experience, the sense of connection, contribution, and purpose that we all derive from meaningful work. I believe in an integrated future of both human and AI talent. The incredible human capacity for creativity, instinct, discernment, empathy, collaboration, and meaning-making, these are not secondary things. They are not nice-to-haves. They are essential to building high-performing teams, strong organizations, and a healthy society. And I believe that when combined with AI in the right way, they become even more powerful.

What exactly the future holds is unclear to all of us. But let me tell you what I think will matter in the future.

Brands that learn how to use AI to amplify human capability, not just automate tasks, will become some of the most trusted and highest-performing brands of the AI era.

Let me tell you why I think this is true.

As artificial intelligence rapidly reshapes how work is done, customers, employees, and partners will increasingly ask a deeper question: What kind of future is this brand actually building?

We are entering the next chapter of the belief-driven buyer. History shows us through the rise of movements like B-Corp certification and Fair Trade, that consumers don’t just buy products; they vote for the future they want to live in.

Right now, we are in the “honeymoon phase” of AI efficiency. On paper, the math looks undeniable, and for a moment, the market may seem indifferent to how work is changing beneath the surface. But over time, the way companies choose to integrate AI into their products, decisions, and workforce will become visible, and it will matter.

We haven’t yet felt the full weight of what happens when a brand becomes overly dependent on automation without intention. But as this phase evolves, a new level of awareness will emerge. Customers will begin to ask a harder question: How does this company actually use AI, and what role do humans still play?

By the time the rest of the market begins to answer that question, the most trusted brands will already be the ones who chose to use AI to elevate their people and who designed their organizations to get the best from both. I’m inviting you to help build that future before the rest of the world demands it.

The next wave of trust in brands will belong to organizations that can clearly demonstrate how they combine AI capability with human contribution.

I believe this creates a real opportunity for brands like yours. I’m inviting you to consider joining a small group that I’m calling HumanCulture Brand Partners. The intent is for the Brand Partners to be a small list of organizations, but the impact is designed to be large-scale.

Here’s what the ideal HumanCulture Brand Partner looks like, and I believe that this represents your organization:

  • They want to be a part of the leading edge. They see things before everyone else sees them and want to help shape a preferred future.

  • They believe in the adoption of AI and choose to stand for something in the way they integrate it into their organization and brand.

  • They communicate to their employees, customers, and stakeholders that human contribution, judgment, and creativity are essential, especially as AI becomes more embedded in work.

  • They believe technology should amplify human potential, that work should be designed to bring out the best in people and machines together, and that the future should serve humans.

  • They believe that transparency builds trust

If you’re excited by the vision of HumanCulture and the key attributes of a Brand Partner feel core to who you are and want to continue being, then I’d like you to consider joining what we’re building.

I’ve put together a short overview of the HumanCulture Brand Partner opportunity here:
